Inspired by ancient Moche iconography and cosmology, this work delves into the dualities of life and death, creation and destruction, cohesion and dispersion. These opposing forces are visualized as two overlapping planes, constantly shifting and transposing onto one another.
Central to Moche belief was the idea of liminal gates — intersections where these planes converged and events could occur. One such threshold was the ceremonial or ritual space: a realm where the boundaries between worlds dissolve, allowing for transformation, passage, and exchange.
